Singaporean restaurant expands to Hong Kong

Singapore-based restaurant Putien is increasing its overseas footprint.

Putien, specialising in Putian cuisine, has expanded into Hong Kong, in the Lee Theatre Plaza in the heart of Causeway Bay.

Putian cuisine comes from the coastal suburb of the same name in Fujian, a region of China. It is mainly seafood.

Founder and CEO of Putien, Fong Chi-chung, said: “Hong Kong has a huge number of international and mainland Chinese visitors, which provides us with an excellent platform to take our Putien brand to the next level.”

It plans to open two restaurants every year in the city in the long term.

The Hong Kong outlet adds to its nine branches in Singapore and four overseas branches in Malaysia and Indonesia.
