Burger King in Indian expansion

India will be one of the growth engines of American fast food chain Burger King.

The fast food chain says it will open outlets in Delhi and Mumbai before the year ends as part of its expansion plan to open as many as 100 outlets over the next 10 years.

The Indian stores will be operated by a joint venture with private equity firm Everstone Group.

Along with India, China – where it plans to have 1000 outlets by 2015 – will drive the company’s growth, it said.

The Whopper sandwich maker has more than 13,000 restaurants around the world.
