Cold Stone launches yogurt bar in Japan

Ice cream chain Cold Stone Creamery has launched a new yogurt concept in Japan – the Cold Stone Frozen Bar.

The new dessert concept uses milk, yogurt and a blend of fresh fruit. Guests choose mix-ins such as strawberries, blueberries, raspberries, banana, mango and/or cream cheese. After the yogurt and mix-ins are selected, the fruit and yogurt are combined and ‘mixed’ using the Cold Stone Creamery Yogurt Mix-In Machine.

The first Cold Stone Frozen Bar store opened at the Aeon Mall Makuhari Shintoshin in Chiba, Japan. Future stores will also be located in other premier malls across the region.

Cold Stone Creamery has been operating in Japan since 2005 through master franchisee HotLand Corp.

“Our new Cold Stone Frozen Bar concept is the first of its kind. We believe it covers an even bigger customer market here in Japan since the popularity of frozen yogurt is growing quickly,” said Kazuhiro Ishihara of HotLand Corp.
