Vietnam National Textile and Garment Group (Vinatex) aims big in Vietnam with plans for 30 more stores across the country this year.
Subsidiary Vinatexmart which focuses on supermarket and fashion retail has recently opened a new supermarket and fashion store in the country. The supermarket located in My Phuoc town in Ben Cat district covers 2000sqm while the fashion store is located in Binh Thanh district in Ho Chi Minh City.
Deputy director Tran Thanh Nhan said that the company will invest VND370 billion (US$18.5 million) for 30 stores, of which 20 will be large-scale supermarkets and 10 will be small shops and fashion stores.
Vinatexmart will also increase presence in populous provinces including An Giang where three outlets are to be opened this year.
The 30 store openings planned for this year are part of the company’s goal to take Vinatex supermarkets and shops to a 200-strong chain by 2015.
In a bid to create a fresher look, Vinatexmart will change its business logo in April.
Last year, Vinatexmart achieved a 30 per cent increase in its revenue. It predicts a 35 per cent revenue growth for this year, of which 45 per cent will be provided by its garment business.
