Chic Republic plans expansion

Thai home-furnishing and furniture store chain, Chic Republic, plans to expand with one store opening per year planned over the next five years.

This year, Chic Republic will invest 40 million baht (US$1.31 million) for opening two stores in Mega Bangna and Hua Hin. The Hua Hin outlet will be located at Pure Plaza with a size of 2000sqm.

The Mega Bangna outlet will be spread across 1500sqm and will be located near HomePro and Ikea.

“I don’t think Ikea is our competitor because of its different concept and style. I do believe both brands will complement each other,” said CEO Kijja Pattamasattayasonthi.

He said the two stores are expected to drive sales growth of 50-70 per cent this year. Two standalone stores are also planned to open in Bangkok in the next two years.

Pattamasattayasonthi also said the break even of its first store located in Ekkamai-Ram Indra is expected to occur within four to five years, two to three years earlier than projected.

Chic Republic offers over 4000 items of home accessories and furniture.
