India’s home-grown cafe brand Cuppa aims to leverage a strong position in its homeland with a trebling of its store network this year.
Cuppa, owned by Concorde Group, offers national and international coffees and teas, as well as snacks, pastries and cakes, burgers, sandwiches, pizza, milk shakes, sizzlers and nachos and fries. From its humble beginning in 2009, Cuppa now has 33 outlets in the country, 27 of them franchised.
“We intend to reach 100 outlets by end of 2012,” said Concorde Cuppa Beverages founder and director Naren Babu Reddy.
Reddy said most of the expansion will be executed through franchising which comes in three size formats: Cuppa Regular, Cuppa Bistro and Cuppa Speed.
Cuppa, noted for its brightly coloured, refreshing interiors, is so far located in five Indian cities including Bangalore, Hyderabad, Davangere, Pune and New Delhi.
