Mall Group makes fashion more fashionable

Thailand’s mall operator The Mall Group will invest one billion baht (US$32.49 million) for renovating its fashion department stores.

The Mall Group, which operates The Mall, Siam Paragon and The Emporium, said that the facelift is designed to meet the rising demand for fashion items including apparel, bags, shoes and accessories.

Renovation of Siam Paragon’s fashion departments, will commence in May and cost 200 million baht (US$6.5 million). The concept design will be changed and the retail space will be expanded by 70 per cent to 5000sqm.

The Mall in Bang Kapi will be renovated later this year with an investment of 140-160 million baht (US$4.54 million – $5.2 million). The product displays, furniture, lighting and ambience will be reviewed for every brand.

The remaining 640-660 million baht (US$20.79 million – $21.44 million) will be invested in refurbishing the fashion departments in other branches of The Mall, all due for completion in 2014.

“The programme will totally change the image of the fashion zones at all our complexes,” said Cherngchai Poovaviranon, GM for merchandise.
