Li & Fung expands portfolio

Hong Kong-based Li & Fung has expand its line-up with the addition of American women’s fashion brand Vena Cava.

And Li & Fung has added the US Polo Association brand added to its Asian portfolio. The group will be the master franchisee for USPA brand including softgoods and hardgoods in China, Macau and Hong Kong.

Li & Fung has signed a licensing and design agreement with Vena Cava which gives Li & Fung the right to grow the brand through its retail partners. Vena Cava, founded by Sophie Buhai and Lisa Mayock, will continue to handle the brand’s creative vision.

Vena Cava will join other womenswear brands Keds Apparel, Sofia Vergara, Ellen Tracy, Rachel Zoe and Daisy Fuentes in Li & Fung’s stable.

Li & Fung US president Rick Darling said Vena Cava will elevate the company’s position in fashion world.

“We have been beginning to build a portfolio of better and more contemporary designers here. What really attracted us to (Mayock and Buhai) is their very specific understanding of a new customer that is emerging, that I think is very important to all of us in the industry right now,” said Darling.
