Shanghai Tang reopens HK flagship

After moving out of its iconic Pedder Street flagship due to escalating rents six months ago, contemporary Chinese fashion pioneer Shanghai Tang has opened its new Hong Kong flagship store, the Shanghai Tang Mansion.

The new store is on Hang Lung Properties’ 1 Duddell St, a short walk from Pedder.

The three-level Shanghai Tang Mansion has a total retail floor area of 15,000 sqft, selling women’s collections, men’s collections, kidswear and accessories.

One of the mansion’s eye-catching ornaments is an awe-inspiring “Shou” (auspicious symbol of longevity) crystal chandelier hangs from the grand foyer’s double-height ceiling.

Shanghai Tang, which has long been committed to promoting and revitalising China’s rich cultural past, will bring new blood to historic Duddell St. The company says the prime store location owned by Hang Lung Properties echoes Shanghai Tang’s positioning as “an ambassador of chic Chinese lifestyle”.

Duddell St is in the heart of Hong Kong’s Central business and shopping district and the new store Shanghai Tang’s largest in the world.

At publishing time Shanghai Tang had not released any store interior images.
