Bangkok riverfront mall opens

Bangkok’s first large-scale riverside complex combining shopping, dining, sightseeing and leisure activities under one roof – Asiatique The Riverfront, celebrated its grand opening on Sunday.

The lifestyle themed retail destination located at Bangkoleam, Bangkok, boasts more than 1500 market-style shops and 40 restaurants.

Asiatique The Riverfront’s concept and design features four main elements:

  • Chareonkrung District showcases traditional and modern Thai culture through performing arts, Thai puppets by Joe Louis Theatre and Calypso Show as well as more than 1000 retail shops selling Thai handicrafts, souvenirs, home decor and spas.
  • Factory District is the area for fashion showcases, a dining scene and shops selling all kinds of design products from clothing to gadget. The focus is on modern lifestyles born after the ‘Industrial Age’.
  • Town Square District blends Thai and Western ways of life, with an international dining scene and sports bars. There is also space for events and activities, including sports, games and product launches.
  • Waterfront District, the main highlight at Asiatique The Riverfront, is the development of Bangkok’s riverside from a centre of trade to tourism. International fine-dining establishments occupy the areas along the riverbanks, while the city’s longest public boardwalk (300 metre) is lined with restaurants and events venues. This is also where the concerts, festivals and the New Year’s countdown celebrations take place.

Asiatique The Riverfront is owned by TCC Land Group whose portfolio also includes retail properties such as Pantip Plaza, Digital Gateway, OP Place, OP Garden and office buildings such as Empire Tower, Athenee Tower and Cyber World Tower.
