Landmark in Krispy Kreme deal

Not long after entering into an agreement with India’s Bedrock Food Company to open 35 stores in six states in the north region of India, North Carolina-based doughnut brand Krispy Kreme has entered again into another Indian deal.

Krispy Kreme has licensed another franchisee to develop 80 Krispy Kreme retail stores during the next five years across the south and west regions of India.

This time, the franchisee is Citymax Hotels, part of the Dubai-based Landmark Group, which is well known for its lifestyle stores in India.

“With Citymax Hotels, we have found a franchise partner with a true passion for the Krispy Kreme brand and our world famous products,” said Jeff Welch, Krispy Kreme president, international.

“We believe that their unique and sound understanding of the Indian consumer, combined with their years of successful business experience across a variety of retail concepts, is a strong asset for them as they establish the Krispy Kreme brand in the south and west regions of India.”

Citymax Hotels president Vishal Sawhney said the addition of Krispy Kreme to its current portfolio of brands allows it to give customers more choice and variety.

Krispy Kreme doughnuts can be found in over 690 stores in 21 countries.
