Turkish retailer targets China

Istanbul-based clothing retailer Colin’s plans to take its brand to China next year.

Colin’s CEO Yavuz Eroğlu said the company will invest around US$10 million to open around 55 stores across the mainland.

China expansion is part of the company’s goal to open 1200 stores in 50 different countries by 2015 that would yield an annual turnover of US$2 billion.

Apart from China, Colin’s also plans to enter other European and South African markets. The retailer remains optimistic despite the economic crisis that Europe is going through.

Established in 1983 by Eroğlu family, Colin’s currently operates 670 stores in 32 countries worldwide.
