Chinese jeweller to launch in Sydney

Chinese jeweller Shanghai Lao Feng Xiang has launched an overseas expansion program by opening a store in Australia.

The store will be located at 60 Castlereagh St in Sydney’s CBD and is scheduled to open in August this year. The company says it will primarily target the more affluent Chinese consumers in Sydney.

The store will offer Chinese gold jewellery featuring traditional design elements, such as the eight immortals figures,  and silver accessories, according to Lao Feng Xiang’s chief designer Zhang Jingyang.

With a history stretching back more than 160 years to 1848, Lao Fengxiang now had a network of 2015 stores in China as of last December.

This year’s expansion plan will include 120 new stores.
