Robinsons to build Cebu supermall

Cebu, which serves as a major gateway to the central and southern parts of the Philippines, will be home to Robinsons’ biggest mall outside metro Manila.

To be built in Cebu City, Robinsons Galleria Cebu will be spread across 156,000sqm. The seven-storey complex will house 300 tenants, including international and local brands. The mall will also house six cinemas with a seating capacity of 1800.

The mixed-use complex will also house a 153-room Go Hotel and a 56,000sqm business process outsourcing building.

The mall, scheduled to open in 2014, will be the company’s third in the Cebu province and its 38th in the Philippines.

Robinsons Land Corporation will spend more than 5 billion pesos (US$119.25 million) for the construction of the new complex.

“We are very confident of the Cebu market that’s why we are fueling a lot of investments here including all other ongoing developments we have for residential,” said Frederick Go, president of Robinsons Land Corporation.

“The retail and tourism industries are vibrant along with BPO industry which will fuel investments like Robinsons Galleria Cebu.”
