J.Lindeberg debuts in China

J.Lindeberg has entered the Chinese market with the opening of its first store in Shanghai.

The store in Grand Gateway Plaza sells menswear and selected apparel from the Golf collection.

“This is just the beginning of our plan. China will be an important market for J.Lindeberg, one with a lot of opportunities,” said J.Lindeberg China GM Kristian Goth Vinther.

J.Lindeberg, known for its prêt-a-porter collections which mix functionality and luxury, plans to add 30 more store in China by the year end and 50 by next year.

The Chinese market is expected to contribute half of the company’s total sales by 2014 or 2015, says CEO Stefan Engstrom.

J.Lindeberg was founded in 1996 by fashion designer Johan Lindeberg. The company’s main collection, golf and ski collection are sold in more than 30 countries worldwide. It opened its first southeast Asia store in Singapore in April.
