CapitaMalls opens Beijing mall

CapitaMall Crystal, Beijing’s newest shopping mall, has opened in China’s capital, Beijing.

The seven-storey mall in Gongzhufen in western Beijing spans 72,000 sqm and is positioned as a middle- to upper-middle income, one-stop shopping destination. It houses 144 tenants, about 43 per cent of which are international brands including Juicy Couture, DKNY, Club Monaco, Armani Exchange, CK Jeans, Folli Follie, 7 for all Mankind, Rabeanco, Tissot and Uniqlo.

The mall serves a catchment of about 600,000 people, including residents living in the high-end apartments nearby. It has good connectivity with direct access to the Beijing Subway Line 1 from the Wan Shou Lu station and more than 20 bus services.

“Fashioned as a trend-setting iconic shopping mall, we believe that CapitaMall Crystal will emerge as a shining star in tandem with the economic development of western Beijing,” said Yeo Kee Whye, MD of CapitaMalls Asia in North China.

CapitaMall Crystal is CapitaMalls’ second mall in Gongzhufen after CapitaMall Cuiwei.

CapitaMalls Asia has interests in and manages a pan-Asian portfolio of 101 shopping malls in Singapore, China, Malaysia, Japan and India.
