Shang Xia opens in Beijing

Two years after opening its first store in Shanghai, Shang Xia, the brand created by Hermes, has opened its second in China at the World Mall in Beijing.

The new store, designed by Japanese architect Kengo Kuma, was themed after Beijing’s city walls. It carries furniture, homeware objects, garments, accessories and hosts an extended tea ceremony experience.

In celebration of the opening, Shang Xia is holding an exhibition showcasing Chinese contemporary craftmanship, displaying new collections for jewellery, furniture and fashion, until end of October.

“Opening in Beijing is an important step in our development through which we hope to allow more friends to enjoy the beauty of Chinese traditional crafts and culture” said Jiang Qiong Er, CEO and artistic director of Shang Xia.
