Thai grocer goes online

Thai retailer Big C has launched an integrated online hypermarket shopping platform.

Big C online shopping is aimed at customers who have limited time and are looking for a convenient and quick outlet to make their purchases, says Sarinthip Satitsatien, VP for business development of Big C Supercenter.

“To satisfy growing digital lifestyles of consumers, Big C Supercenter has designed the first-ever integrated online hypermarket shopping platform under the strategy ‘Big C Big Service – We make shopping easy’,” said Satitsatien.

The online hypermarket shopping platform includes mobile shopping app to be run on the iOS and Android operating systems. It will feature QR codes of more than 10,000 items ranging from dry food and grocery to health and beauty products, clothing and apparels, home and electronic appliances.

Online customers can pick up products and pay at 112 physical stores or use the free delivery service for orders worth over 1500 baht in selected cities.

All items carry the same price and promotion as in Big C physical stores. Exclusive ‘online only’ deals will be offered weekly. Online customers will enjoy full Big Card benefits and privileges such as cash coupons, balance accrual and members-only promotions.

The mobile application also offers ‘store locator’ service to help locate nearby Big C stores for customers on the move.

Big C joins other Thai retailers who have taken advantage of online marketing including department store Central, mall operator The Mall Group and Singha Corporation.
