Versace severs Indian deal

Italian luxury brand Versace has ended its partnership with Indian company Blues Clothing after being plagued by performance issues.

Reports from India say the Italian brand has been hampered by problems by the family-controlled Indian partner.

The termination of the deal is expected to see the closure of Versace’s two stores in Mumbai and Delhi.

While both sides declined to comment on the matter, Versace said it remains strongly committed to growing its presence in the country.

Blues Clothing and Versace signed their partnership deal in 2005. Another Italian brand, Corneliani, has also terminated its agreement with Blues Clothing and partnered instead with OSL Luxury.
