Snap Fitness heads to Asia

Minnesota-based fitness franchise Snap is to strengthen its global reach with an aggressive expansion plan.

With nearly 1400 clubs already open and operating in seven countries, Snap Fitness recently signed development deal with Richard Lowe to bring its concept to Asian countries including Singapore, Thailand, Hong Kong, Indonesia, Malaysia and the Philippines.

With over 20 years of fitness industry experience, Lowe has already established several fitness companies including California Fitness Centers in Asia, Fitness First, and Slender Shapes.

The first Snap Fitness club is expected to open in Singapore at the beginning of 2013, with a 10-year goal of opening 500 clubs throughout the six countries.

“Health and fitness are universal concerns,” said Peter Taunton, founder and CEO of Snap Fitness. “Our model provides a quick and convenient work out that resonates with any demographic and ethnicity.”

While it offers the same quality equipment as traditional health clubs, the brand says it is setting industry standards by focusing on complete member wellness and providing a host of products and services designed to give members better results and more value for their money.
