Dutch clothing company G-Star Raw has continued its global expansion with the opening of its largest store in the world – in Shanghai.

The store spans 750 sqm over two floors with the ground floor featuring menswear and the second floor split between men’s and womenswear. There is also a 25 sqm space dedicated to footwear.

The store characterises the brand through a denim wall spanning both levels, complemented with luminous glass structure visible throughout the store. A spiral staircase also adds charm to the design of the store.

The flagship, the brand’s second store in Shanghai, keeps the architectural style of the historic Shikumen building. It features oak window frames and an interior made of steel and concrete, all designed by the in-house G-Star 3D Design and Development Department.

The Shanghai store follows the successful opening of the retailer’s flagship in Hong Kong which opened 10 months ago.

Rapid expansion has seen the brand’s total stores grew to more than 6000 in 70 countries including some of the world’s largest metropolises such as New York, Tokyo, Los Angeles and Sydney.
