Desigual enters India

Spanish brand Desigual is making its Indian debut through e-commerce player will offer Desigual exclusively on its website.

Renowned for its colourful, unusual designs, Desigual is present in more than 71 countries around the world, with Malaysia its latest new market.

“India is a new market for us and with infinite potential, we are confident we will have good response from the country,” said Desigual VP Jordi Balsells.

“Retail in India has grown by 43 per cent and reached till 60 per cent penetration among online users, but is still below world average. This shows the huge potential that the retail category holds in India with online retail filling the distribution and convenience gap,” added Balsells.

“Having flourished amongst a brand conscious audience, we are hopeful of a positive response for Desigual in India and plan to do more such tie- ups in the coming future,” said Jabong co-founder Arun Chandra Mohan.
