Trussardi plans China expansion

Italian fashion house Trussardi plans to embark on a Chinese roll-out, reports China Daily.

The family-owned luxury company has a flagship store in Shanghai, its first in the mainland and fifth in the world.

Tomaso Trussardi, fourth generation descendant of Dante Trussardi who founded the group, said that the Shanghai store is different from its other stores in Europe.

“The exterior design of this store is brand new, a work of Michael Young, an internationally renowned designer. And we have given our greyhound logo a tri-dimensional look only for this store,” said Trussardi.

Trussardi added that it considers China as an important market with plans to take the opportunities that await luxury companies.

“Speaking of growing, since Europe is in recession and there is little market share for us in America, we would like to focus on China,” he said.

The Trussardi Group was founded in in Bergamo in 1911. In 1973 Nicola Trussardi created the Greyhound logo, a first in the fashion business, giving life to an original brand concept.
