Luxottica to focus on SE Asia

Eyewear retailer Luxottica is expecting a double-digit growth in the premium and luxury segments this year after its fourth quarter earnings climbed by 19 per cent.

CEO Andrea Guerra said the company may acquire more brands to expand further. In November, it has acquired Alain Mikli.

Luxoticca, which owns brands Ray-Ban and Oakley, said it will focus its expansion in Southeast Asia where it sees more growth opportunities – particularly in Thailand and Indonesia.

“Indonesia is a huge market that’s growing fast,” said Guerra.

The company says it is also looking to enter Vietnam.

“Vietnam is a new option on our table,” says the CEO.

Based in Milan, Luxottica also owns sunglasses brands such as Sunglass Hut, Oliver Peoples and Pearle Vision Center.
