Young Versace lands in India

Young Versace, the kiddie couture concept of Italian fashion label Versace, has signed Les Petits as its representative in India.

According to Les Petits president Swati Saraf, it will start retailing Young Versace through its own stores before opening standalone shops.

“After successfully bringing in eminent international kids brands, the launch of Young Versace in India marks a milestone in the booming kids luxury segment,” said Saraf.

Young Versace is available for children aged up to eight years. The brand’s Sring/Summer 2013 collection is inspired from the treasures of the sea by using elements from the House of Versace to create a fusion between tradition and glamour. With contrasting colours combined with pastels, boys and girls would enjoy dressing up in tropical floral and Miami prints in shades of pink and blue.

According to Donatella Versace, Young Versace is perfect for kids who like to stand out from the crowd.

Les Petits is a chain of stores which sells high-end brands such as Fendi Kids, Baby Dior and Miss Blumarine.

Young Versace would be in direct competition with Armani Junior, the kids’ label of Giorgio Armani, which entered India last year via partner Suneet Varma.
