British jeweller expands into China

Welsh gold jewellery brand Clogau is to open its very first international store in China.

The Clogau boutique will open within Beijing Capital International Airport this May. It will showcase a collection of 18 carat gold, sterling silver and rose gold products.

The jeweller will also open at Abu Dhabi International Airport in June, in partnership with Pure Gold Jewellers. The brands Historical Royal Palaces-inspired collections – Kensington and Royal Crown – will be showcased in Abu Dhabi.

It says it is looking for further distribution opportunities, with Pure Gold Jewellers, in the Middle East and India.

Clogau Gold also added cruise ships Sun Princess, which will launch in Japan, and Royal Princess, which will launch in Europe, as its travel retail partners.

Founded in 1994, Clogau Gold sells through more than 500 UK outlets as well as other multiple channels, including independent and multiple jewellery stores, department stores, travel retail in-flight magazines, TV shopping channels, and direct mail.
