True invests more in e-commerce

True Digital Content and Media, the e-commerce arm of Thai communication conglomerate True Corporation, plans to give its new online shop a boost, banking on the country’s growing online shopper base.

The company will spend 100 million baht (US$3.4 million) to enhance the information technology system and marketing of its new B2B website iTruemart.com.

iTruemart.com currently offers 3000 products such as fashion items, beauty products and gadgets. The company plans to increase its product offerings to 20,000 by the year-end.

Apart from iTruemart.com, True Digital Content and Media also operates Weloveshopping.com which is a C2C website.

GM for e-commerce Seubsakol Sakolsatayadorn is upbeat on the potential of its shopping websites as Thais spend more online. He added that currently, Thailand has 7 million consumers doing web shopping.

“The number is expected to increase rapidly on the back of imminent full commercial third-generation mobile broadband service,” said Sakolsatayadorn.
