Indonesia’s Hypermart to expand

Hypermart, a unit of Matahari Food Division, is planning a significant expansion drive over the coming years.

The multi food retailer plans to open 80 new stores across the country within the next five years. Currently, it has 82 stores in Indonesia, the newest in Palembang, South Sumatra.

The company said the new 5000sqm store cost the company $5.14 million.

Besides Hypermart, Matahari also operates 28 Foodmart stores and 67 Boston Health Centre stores.
