Indian online retailer opens virtual stores

Indian online retailer Yebhi.com has opened virtual stores at 30 Cafe Coffee Day outlets in Delhi and Bangalore.

The virtual stores enable shoppers to purchase products such as apparel, shoes, mobile phones, accessories and more from a virtual wall. Shoppers need to select the image of the product they want to purchase and scan its corresponding QR code, after which they will be taken to the Yebhi.com website where they will complete the purchase.

“We are always looking to make the shopping experience easier and more convenient for our customers and the introduction of the virtual store is a great achievement,” said founder and CEO Manmohan Agarwal.

“This is a real triumph for the Indian e-commerce industry as it continues to be at the forefront of technological innovation,” he said.

Established in 2009, Yebhi.com boasts a customer base of more than 2 million.

India’s first virtual store was opened at Delhi Indira Gandhi International Airport by e-commerce company HomeShop18.
