French sportsgoods retailer Decathlon’s continous expansion in China sees it entering Henan Province this year.
Decathlon is said to have invested 30 million yuan in a store at Zhonglu Square in Zhengzhou slated to open in October. With an operating area of 5200 sqm, it will be Decathlon’s largest leased store in China.
Qi Yijia, VP for the real estate department of Decathlon Greater China, said Decathlon plans to open at least 10 stores in Zhengzhou in the next 10 years. Aside from Zhengzhou, it also plans to open in other cities including Luoyang, Xinxiang and Pingdingshan.
The new store will add to the 57 stores Decathlon currently operates in the Chinese market.
