Chevron Malaysia adds retail

Chevron is expanding the retail offer of its Caltex fuel station network in Malaysia, adding convenience stores and fast food.

Chevron Malaysia has signed an agreement with 7-Eleven Malaysia and Burger King franchise holder Cosmo Restaurants to open the brand at Caltex stations.

The alliance with 7-Eleven and Burger King is part of a regional strategy geared towards giving local Caltex investors greater flexibility in customising their stations’ non-fuel offerings to meet customer needs and drive profits, said Chevron Malaysia country chairman Jeremy Oh Beng Chuan in a statement.

7-Eleven Malaysia said the alliance with Chevron is part of its growth plan while for Burger King, it is part of its effort to increase consumer consideration.

“For our motoring customers, this translates to enhanced convenience, from good fuel to easy access to necessities and family meals from brands they trust,” said Chuan.

Chevron is planning to open 100 new Caltex service stations by 2015 on top of its 420 currently operating across Malaysia.
