Google takes Android Nation to India

The Android Nation store concept is set to debut in India.

Google has partnered with Singapore-based company Spice Global to open Android Nation stores in India, with the first opening in New Delhi’s Select Citywalk mall later this year.

Spice Global and Google plan to convert 50 of the 900 Spice Hotspot stores under operation by Spice Global into Android Nation stores to hasten the expansion program.

The store will sell Android-powered devices from multiple manufacturers such as HTC, Samsung, Asus, LG, Sony and more. It will also enable customers to experience Android apps, download software and seek help from experts at the store.

India will be the second country to have Android Nation store after Indonesia. Google opened its first Android Nation store in Jakarta in 2012 through partnership with Indonesian retailer Erafone. The partnership now operates two Android Nation stores in Indonesia.

The expansion into India is part of Google’s strategy to broaden the Android user base and boost sales of Android-operated devices.
