Intersport plans Chinese expansion
International sporting goods retailer Intersport will expand its Chinese presence with an additional three new stores scheduled for August opening.
Intersport also plans a rapid roll out of its newly acquired brand The Athlete’s Foot.
The company says: “We consider it realistic to develop more than 1500 The Athlete’s Foot stores by 2025.”
The sports goods company, which operates stores in 41 countries, achieved retail sales of €10.2 billion in 2012.
This year will also see the brand expand into Morocco and in 2014 in Belarus.
“We will continue to further invest in the brand at the local, national and international level,” it says.
