Pancake House beefs up expansion

Pancake House plans expansion in the Philippines and abroad.

The company has allocated 150 million pesos (US$3.5 million) to open 30 new outlets in the Philippines.

Abroad, its flagship brand Pancake House will debut in Kuwait and Brunei while its Japanese chain Teriyaki Boy will soon enter Hawaii.

Meanwhile, its pizza chain Yellow Cab will also open its first outlets in the UAE and Singapore after signing franchise agreements in both markets.

“We are now working in areas in UAE to grow and open the 15 stores in the next three years,” said Pancake House Inc president Martin Lorenzo.

“We’re surely growing in the Middle East for Yellow Cab and Southeast Asia for Pancake House,” he said.

With new outlet openings underway, Pancake House will have a total of 350 restaurants by the end of the year, 20 of which would be located offshore.

Besides expansion, Pancake House also eyes further acquisitions in the coming year.
