China’s second half retail sales are likely to grow over first half figures, says Ministry of Commerce spokesperson Shen Danyang.
China’s retail sales increased 12.7 per cent in the first half and 13.3 per cent in June.
“China’s consumption has rebounded month by month since March, and consumption at the retail level has been increasing steadily,” said Shen.
Shen adds that while the second half will see some headwinds in consumption, there are still positive factors.
“So in general, we expect retail sales in the second half to be better than in the first.”
