Vodka maker Absolut has opened its first sole brand store – at Kuala Lumpur International Airport, Malaysia.
Operated by Malaysian duty free operator Eraman Duty Free, the 45 sqm flagship store features an “Absolut bespoke bar”, which according to the company is a piece of art in its own right. An “Absolut drinkspiration” offers cocktails for travellers to experience in the lounge area.
“This is the first brand store that Absolut has ever opened, so it’s great and historical moment for us,” says The Absolut Company CEO Paul Duffy.
The company’s director for global travel retail, Anders Olsson, said the store demonstrates the company’s brand and image building qualities.
The Absolut store, which is the only spirit brand to open at KLIA, is a collaboration between The Absolut Company, Pernod Ricard Asia Travel Retail and Eraman Duty Free.
“This cutting-edge venture is a manifestation of our determination to infuse new exciting energy and creativity to lifestyle marketing to order to meet and surpass the high demands of savvy air travellers,” said Eraman Duty Free GM Fawzy Ahmad.
