Mall honoured for being green

Singapore mall [email protected] has been recognised for its commitment to sustainability.

[email protected], managed by Australian real estate company Lend Lease, has won Green Mark Platinum Award from Building & Construction Authority (BCA), through re-certification under the stricter existing non-residential building version 3 criteria.

The recognition is the highest in the BCA’s benchmarking scheme which incorporates best practices in environmental design and performance.

Amongst the sustainability initiatives maintained and introduced, are performance contracting on [email protected]’s ACMV (air conditioning and mechanical ventilation) systems with an energy consultant.

[email protected] is also the first centre to implement Green Lease in Singapore, a tool used by Lend Lease to encourage tenants to embrace its sustainability objectives and incorporate such elements into their store.

“At Lend Lease, we strive to make a difference in the building industry by focusing on innovative technology and initiatives that ultimately produce a greener built environment,” said Thirukumaran Jallendran, head of sustainability, Asia.
