Xiaomi to open first store

Chinese smartphone maker Xiaomi is to open its first retail store in Beijing.

Xiaomi’s VP Li Wanqiang confirmed the news on Wiebo last night, saying that the store will be located at Wangqing Mall, which also houses an Apple store.

Besides selling phones, the store will also offer repair services.

Xiaomi, which sold 7 million phones in the first six months of the year through partnerships with e-commerce and telecommunication companies, aims to sell 20 million Android-powered phones this year.
