The Container Store goes global

US storage and organisation products retailer, The Container Store, is expanding its international e-commerce reach to countries including India, Japan and Australia.

Previously only accessible to consumers in the US and Canada, The Container Store’s online product offerings are now available to shoppers in Australia, India, Mexico, Germany, France, Japan, Switzerland, Russia and the UK, in collaboration with global e-commerce solutions Borderfree.

“Our biggest priority is to provide customers with an excellent experience whether they are shopping in our stores or online. Working with Borderfree allows us to provide the seamless experience our domestic customers expect to new markets around the world,” said The Container Store VP of creative and online Melissa Collins.

Borderfree breaks down barriers to selling globally, allowing retailers to provide an online shopping experience for international consumers that is on par with domestic consumers.

In addition to localising retailers’ websites for international markets, the Borderfree platform addresses myriad related challenges including customs compliance, fraud and risk management, international payments, parcel fulfillment and returns, among other features.

“There is strong demand among international consumers for access to US brands and to compelling products that cannot be found anywhere else,” said Borderfree CEO Michael DeSimone.

“The Container Store, known for its proprietary organisational solutions and world-class customer experience, fits this mold and we are excited to help smooth the way to meet existing international demand and grow its brand globally.”
