De Beers expands Chinese presence

Diamond jeweller De Beers has opened a second store in Shanghai and its sixth in China.

Spanning 120 sqm, the store is located within the IAPM Mall in the Xuhui District and features a design concept of glass and light, making De Beers’ creations, including its solitaires, timeless classics and high jewellery, come to life.

To celebrate the opening, De Beers held an exhibition called “Moments in Light” which showcased the artworks of esteemed Chinese artists Cui Xiuwen, Liang Yuanwei, Han Yajuan and Peng Wei.

De Beers said the new IAPM store represents its focus in China, recognising the demand for diamonds by Chinese consumers and highlighting its success as a global destination for diamond jewellery lovers and connoisseurs.

De Beers was established in 2001 as an independently managed and operated joint venture between luxury products group LVMH and diamond mining and marketing company De Beers SA. It has a worldwide presence with stores located in key luxury locations including Old Bond Street in London, Fifth Avenue in New York, Printemps and Galeries Lafayette in Paris, Shin Kong Place in Beijing, The Landmark in Hong Kong and Ginza in Tokyo.
