Fast food chain plans 25,000 restaurants

Taiwanese fast food Dico’s is eyeing a large chunk of China’s quick restaurant service (QSR) market.

The fast food chain, owned by Taiwanese food manufacturer Ting Hsin International Group, plans to open an astonishing 25,000 restaurants across China by 2040.

The expansion plan is part of its goal to become China’s biggest fast food chain, surpassing American brands KFC and McDonald’s.

Ting Hsin International Group chairman Wei Ying-heng says that the penetration rate of fast food chain in China is still much lower than those in the US and Japan, signaling an immense opportunity for expansion.

Dico’s, which offers Western-style menu, was founded in 1994 in Chengdu.
