Lululemon tests China’s water

Yoga-inspired athletic apparel company Lululemon is preparing to enter China.

To test the water, the Canadian company has set up showrooms in Hong Kong. While it is ready to open a full-size store, Lululemon says it is taking its time to find the right location.

Lululemon is looking to revitalise its image and grow its footprint overseas as it is losing a little of its luster in its North American markets. And it says Asia, particularly China, will be its expansion focus.

Earlier this year, it launched e-commerce websites specific to Hong Kong, Singapore, Britain and European Union.

Besides its e-commerce websites, Lululemon also trades through more than 200 stores in North America, Australia and New Zealand.
