Retail design house snaps up rival

Sweden’s M2 Retail Solutions has acquired Hong Kong-based interior architecture firm Lui Design.

M2 Retail Solutions provides solutions for global premium retail store establishment – from designing retail store concepts to turnkey stores. It has offices in Sweden, Denmark, China and Hong Kong.

Over the last 10 years, M2 Retail Solutions has handled retail design and shop fitting projects for over 2000 retail stores and 1500 shop-in-shops in more than 70 countries.

Lui Design is a retail design and project management specialist renowned for services to high-end brands in fashion, jewellery and watches.

Active in Asia for the last 13 years, Lui Design currently employs 14 professionals at its offices in Hong Kong and Seoul. The firm’s client portfolio includes names like Hermes, Chloe and Piaget.

Lui Design will continue operating as an independent company under the leadership of founder and MD Andrea Lui, in partnership with M2 Retail Group.

M2 is one of the first European retail design specialists to enter the Asia Pacific market and will celebrate 10 years in Asia in 2014.

“Asia Pacific is an increasingly key market for international retailers as well as the M2 Group,” said its chairman Christian Bjornstad.
