Aeon launches Hong Kong virtual stores

Aeon has launched virtual stores across different MTR stations in Hong Kong.

Aeon has tapped MTR Advertising’s e-shopping campaign to help time-pressed passengers shop on the go.

The virtual store features images of Aeon supermarket shelves in ads with QR codes to allow audiences on the move to shop online and get e-coupons.

Over 40 items of Japanese gourmet products in poster-on-wall display format are available in the virtual store at MTR Causeway Bay, Admiralty, Tai Koo, Tsuen Wan stations and also on the Consecutive Concourse 12-sheet Panel at Tsim Sha Tsui Station.

MTR passengers can shop online and download e-coupons by scanning QR codes with their smartphones while commuting. E-coupons will be rebated when they shop either at the online store (aeoncity.com.hk) or in-store. Around 5500 types of goods are available in aeoncity.com.hk mobile site for shoppers to choose from.

“The virtual supermarket shelves, with product display, have already created a stunning impact to audiences on the move. We believe the campaign truly provides a simple and hassle-free shopping experience to our busy customers on their way to work,” said Aeon Stores (Hong Kong) MD Christine Chan.

“In addition, the strategic locations of the advertisements serve well to reach a targeted mix of passengers in the commercial and residential districts of Hong Kong and successfully drive them to visit our nearby stores with e-coupons,” she said.
