EC Harris appoints new SE Asia head

Global built asset consultancy EC Harris has appointed Lachlan Gyde as its new head of retail asset performance in Southeast Asia.

Based in Singapore, Gyde will lead the firm’s work with shopping centre investors, operators and developers in markets including Singapore, Malaysia, Vietnam and Indonesia.

With more than two decades of real estate experience including 13 years in Asia (Southeast Asia, China, Hong Kong and Japan), Gyde has worked with international retailers and funds across the region, and has a proven track record in maximising shareholder value and financial return.

He joins the firm from Grosvenor, where he was regional director of the asset management team, working on a number of significant portfolios including Parkside Plaza in Shanghai. He also helped Grosvenor to acquire a 50 per cent share in the PCCW Tower on Hong Kong Island.

Before moving to Grosvenor, Gyde spent two years as the director of retail development on the Marina Bay Sands scheme in Singapore. As part of this role, he developed the master plan for the casino around the retail, food, beverage and entertainment offerings which covered over 1 million sqft within the development.

Gyde also ran his own consultancy business, founded the Asia Pacific Real Estate Association (APREA), and worked on many other iconic projects including the redevelopment of Clarke Quay in Singapore. Previously, he worked in his native Australia for Colonial First State and Davey Financial Management.
