Mattress maker Kingsdown is expanding to Malaysia with partnership signed with Far East Foam Industries.

Kingsdown, founded in 1904 and headquartered in North Carolina, is a manufacturer of premium mattress systems serving retailers across the US and in more than 20 countries.

Headquartered in Negeri Sembilan, Malaysia, Far East Foam Industries will manufacture and sell the Kingsdown Passions, Select and Tradition collections into the Malaysian and Singapore markets.

“With the accelerated growth of the middle class in Southeast Asia, as well as the increasing importance being placed on health, wellness and quality sleep, we know it’s the right time to build a strong presence there,” said Kingsdown president and CEO Frank Hood.

The partners plan to open two Kingsdown-branded stores in Malaysia and Singapore and sell Kingsdown beds at Far East Foam’s 10 retail stores.
