Taiwanese restaurant operator Wowprime has signed a joint venture agreement with Pu Tien Holdings to operate a vegetarian restaurant chain in Singapore.
To be called Sufood, the vegetarian restaurant will debut in the city-state next year and will be expanded to eight outlets by 2018.
The restaurant brand will be the third Wowprime brand to be licensed overseas, after 12 Sabu and Tokiya.
“We’ve visited quite a few F&B groups in Singapore for years, figuring out the food variety and opportunities. Singapore will be our key to open the Southeast Asia market,” said Wowprime Chairman Steve Day.
Wowprime, which has a portfolio of 14 restaurant chains, currently operates 17 Sufood restaurants in Taiwan, while Pu Tien Holdings runs 11 restaurants in Singapore, Indonesia and Malaysia.
