Furla boosts travel presence in China

Italian accessories retailer Furla has opened a new store at Shenzhen Domestic Airport.

The store – which marks a furthering of its move into travel retailing – is a partnership with LS Travel Retail, occupying 75 sqm at the airport’s Terminal 3.

“We are expanding Furla’s presence in travel retail through selective boutiques and shop-in shops. Asia is a particularly important market for us – we recently opened a new location at Changi T2 with LS travel retail – and within the region China is definitely a shining light,” said Furla global travel retail director Gerry Munday.

He added that the new store in Shenzhen is a great location for Furla to increase its exposure in the correct way for the brand.

Furla’s turnover in 2012 rose 18 per cent to €212 million ($291.4 million) while its travel retail business surged 93 per cent.
