Krispy Kreme hits Delhi

Doughnut retailer Krispy Kreme has expanded into northern India through its new franchise partner, Bedrock Foods.

Bedrock has opened the first Krispy Kreme store in Delhi at Select City Walk mall.

The cafe features 16 doughnut varieties, including Krispy Kreme’s signature Original Glazed doughnut, along with coffees, teas and iced beverages.

The focal point of the new store is Krispy Kreme’s famous Doughnut Theater viewing area, where customers can enjoy watching the food being cooked, filled, and topped.

It is the first of 35 Krispy Kreme stores Bedrock Foods plans to open in northern India.

“The opening of our first store in Delhi broadens Krispy Kreme’s reach within India to the key north India market,” said Jeff Welch, Krispy Kreme president – international.

Krisy Kreme entered India earlier this year through a franchise deal with Dubai retailer Landmark Group’s subsidiary Citymax Hotels India, which has been granted the rights to develop 80 stores across south and west India over the next five years.

The first Krispy Kreme store in India has opened in January in Bangalore.
