Furla expands to Cambodia

Italian accessories retailer Furla has set up its first sales point in Cambodia.

The retailer has opened a 10 sqm personalised corner, which carries its AW13 collection, at Dufry at Phnom Penh Airport.

“Cambodia is rapidly developing as a tourist market. It continues our expansion throughout Southeast Asia and I am confident that Dufry will do a great job for us in Phnom Penh,” said Furla global travel retail director Gerry Munday.

Furla says its travel retail business is steadily growing, with turnover in 2012 up 18 per cent to €212 million ($291.4 million) while its travel retail business surged 93 per cent.

Elsewhere in Asia, Furla plans to open 100 stores in China through its partner, Hong Kong-based Fung Group.

Founded by Aldo Furlanetto in 1927 in Bologna, Furla exports to 71 countries, with 320 single-brand boutiques, 1290 points of sale in department stores and specialist stores, five subsidiaries in the US, France, Japan, Hong Kong and Korea, as well as distributing online through its own e-boutique.
